Jeanne Jauniaux

Jeanne Marie Cecile Jauniaux of Wallaceburg died peacefully in Chatham on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the age of 77. Jeanne is the daughter of the late Peter and Clara (Granger) Jauniaux. She is predeceased by her husband Bruce Irwin. Beloved mother of Kathy Poirier (Claude). Loving grandmother of Ashley Turbucz (Moises Guerrero), Adam Poirier (Lindsay Thompson) and Shantelle Poirier (Joel Nash) and great grandmother of Quinton, Elias and Gabrielle. Dear sister of Carmen Poole (the late Jim), Louise Nauta (the late Casey) and the late Jules Jauniaux (Nicole). She will be greatly missed by her many nieces & nephews. A celebration of Jeanne’s life at First Baptist Church in Wallaceburg will be announced at a later date. Jeanne’s cremated remains will be interred in Riverview Cemetery. Mothers are a part of us, a part of our soul, a part of our cellular being. Mothers are in everything we do - how we cook, how we clean, how we dress. It doesn’t matter who we are, where we go or what we do our Mothers are with us. We hear their voices, we see their faces - either warning us or encouraging us, it doesn’t matter, they are always there. So you see, we never say goodbye, it’s not possible. So what do we say instead? How about thank you. Thank you for my life, thank you for always thinking of me first, thank you for telling me the hard stuff that I never wanted to hear, thank you for always loving me even when I was a brat. How about “I love you”? How many of us say that enough to our Mothers? Do you say it every time you speak to her? What if that time is the last time? The evening before my Mother slipped away I was with her in her room, it was 11pm. I looked at her beautiful face, her hands that worked so hard her whole life and I was overwhelmed at that moment with such pure emotion. She hadn’t opened her eyes for a few hours, she looked so peaceful. I touched her face and said, “Momma I love you”. She opened her beautiful blue eyes, looked into my soul and said, “I love you too”. That was the last time I saw those eyes and those were the last words she spoke. My Mother peacefully went home at 10:45 pm, April 23, 2015. My Mother, the strongest, most beautiful person I have had the honour of loving. My Mother, my hero, the woman that walks in my soul. So I will not say good bye to my Mother, how could I? Instead I will say, “Momma, I love you and I will see you again”. Love Me
