Elaine Tapp

On January 16, 2024, at the age of 79, our mother and grandmother Elaine Louise Margaret Tapp (nee Crackle) left us to be reunited with her beloved husband Lynford Earle Tapp (June 20, 2021) and her grandson Trace Tapp (May 8th, 2021). Elaine will be remembered by her children and grandaughter: Wendy & Nick of Poole, England, Brad of London and Graham, Michelle & Emily of Wallaceburg. Elaine was a character who will be missed by many. She and Lyn had many close friends made through his involvement in the Masons, many spanning 30 or more years. Those friendships are still strong, and she was still attending events and enjoying time with them after his passing. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church from the time they moved to Wallaceburg in 1972 until her passing. Her involvement included being a long term member of the choir and the Baptist Women’s Fellowship. She also had a huge heart for the Missions and Outreach program. She also had a wonderful friend group from Jackson’s Pharmacy where Lyn worked most of his career, and she helped out where she could. Finally, Elaine loved to travel, and she and Lyn spent many happy vacations both on their own and with friends. They always enjoyed company when travelling, sharing their knowledge with new people. From many years cruising, to just relaxing at their cottage in Tobermory, when Lyn was off work they were off to somewhere. She had recently taken to cruising solo after Lyn’s passing and found that while she missed him, she was enjoying this new experience. Family and friends are invited for visitation at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4-7pm. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church (99 Thomas Ave, Wallaceburg) on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1pm with burial at Riverview Cemetery to follow.
