Brian Lashmore

Michael BRIAN Lashmore, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully with his loving family & his muched loved family, on a spring day, Monday, March 30, 2015 at the age of 67. Brian is the son of the late Frederick GEORGE & June Ruth (Thorpe) Lashmore. Beloved husband of Janet Lynn Lashmore (Rothery). Loving father of Julie Cook (Darrel) and Michael “Mick” Lashmore and grandfather of Mitchell, Jacob & Jessi, special godson of Wade Kenneth Gurd. Dear brother of Shelley Wardell (Lorne), Vicki Walling (Britt) and the late Barry Wayne Lashmore (1949) and loved brother-in-law of Janice Gurd (Bob) and Jim Rothery (Deb). Nephew to Shirley McPhail (Lashmore) and Wayne McPhail. Companion of Popeye & Kahlua (2012), the faithful family pets. Brian will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews who all enjoyed the guidance, company & love of their Uncle Brian & returned it in equal measure. He was known to many as Uncle Brian & to some as just Uncle. His Sister said he was a Baby Whisperer - he loved to hold and calm babies....and was very proud of it. Shawn (Thanks for the many special visits), Anne Marie, Jay, Troy, Trevor, Tara, Jennifer, Stephanie, Rob, Kristin & Jay with all fond memories. Brian started out at the Dominion Glass Factory in Wallaceburg in the shipping & receiving department, then became a Real Estate Agent and CRA (Real Estate Appraiser) for many years, having worked for Shepley Real Estate and Howes/Homes Realty. He was the proud owner operator proprietor of Mariners’ Trailer Park – Sunny Beach in Erieau with an Ice Cream store, North Shore Cottage & "Hossienda" Cabin – including his beloved “Peeps”. He Loved The beach and spent his Summers in Erieau since he was a young boy. Summer days were spent along the North Shore of Lake Erie grooming his beloved Sunny Beach on his 1946 tractor, having breakfast at Damons’ or Jacks’, reading the newspaper & especially going to the dump. He could fix anything & had a knack for carpentry. He loved working with wood – his specialty. He had a Beautiful mind. When he scooped Ice Cream he would hold the Ice Cream Cone up – look at it and say “It’s a Beautiful thing”. He had fun with his customers. He always said – “It’s Always Sunny at Sunny Beach”. The evening Sunsets were the Best. He liked to spend winters at Madeira Beach in Florida. Brian was an avid Lacrosse Fan, Player, Supporter and coach. Brian was a member of the 1969 Red Devils that won the Ontario Lacrosse Association Senior lacrosse title against Huntsville. The Red Devils lost to Nanaimo in the Canadian Semi-finals that year. Brian was later involved in minor lacrosse in Wallaceburg as coach for many seasons. Brian was a great fan of hockey. He loved his Montreal Canadiens & was never shy to let you know it. He was also active with Wallaceburg minor hockey, coaching for numerous years with both the boys & girls programs. He enjoyed the opportunity to coach his son, daughter & many nephews on multiple teams over the years. He was also a great fan of Formula One Racing. Skiing was a favourite too. Brian was generous, giving and kind (gave his toys away as a boy). He was known for his wit & sense of humour, was very entertaining & always ready for a joke. He was a good man & will be missed greatly. My wonderful husband. He always had a love affair with his wife and Erieau. I love you… love you more… miss you. Love you always – your family. The family will have a private gathering and celebration of Brians' life at Sunny Beach Erieau this summer.
