Mae Rose Marek of Wallaceburg and formerly of Richmond Hill and Gimli, Manitoba, passed away peacefully at the Oaks Retirement Village on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the age of 93. Mae is the daughter of John & Rose (Cherniak) Graboski. Predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley Marek in 2009. Loving mother of Dennis Marek (Lorna) of Wallaceburg and Earl Marek (Dorothy) of St. Joseph Island. Cherished grandmother of Amanda Miller (Bruce), David, Stephen and Justin Marek and great grandmother of Silke, Joshua, Pim, Jacob, Ryan, Matthew and Zachary. Sister of the late Elizabeth Zdebiak and Mike, Joseph and Edward Graboski. Mae had worked at Hudson’s Bay and Hunt’s & Women’s Bakeries in Toronto. She volunteered at the Wallaceburg Hospital and with the Milk Bag Ladies or whoever needed her help, making sleeping mats and knitting baby blankets. Gardening, playing cards and needlework were her other passions. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 10 AM – 11:45 on Thursday, September 24 with a Mass of the Resurrection to follow at 12 noon at Our Lady Help of Christians Church. A time of fellowship and refreshment will follow at the Cavanagh Reception Centre. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery in Toronto on Friday.
