Geraldine Reaume

After 85 years in her home town of Wallaceburg ON, Geraldine Patricia Reaume, aka Aunt G, Gerry, G - passed away peacefully on Valentine’s Day 2021. Her life with Cerebral Palsy was not easy, but she lived very independently with the help of family members and many friends over the years. Gerry was determined, could be a bit stubborn, but had a great sense of humour and was definitely fun to tease. Her hugs were ferocious, often a bit painful! She had a love of life that helped her deal with all her challenges with strength, courage and grace. She was known for her book keeping skills during the many years she worked at ARC Industries and regularly attended her Friday night Happy Craft. Gerry was always up for an adventure, including celebrating her 80th birthday in Okotoks with all her family. Aunt G will be missed by her four nieces and their families: Brenda Parry (Mike Shorey) in Banff; Betty Parry (Doug Mortier) in Winnipeg, Bonnie Wilkie (Frank) in Okotoks and Beverly Parry (Dan Livingstone – deceased) in Ottawa. Many thanks to cousin Marianne Johnstone (Bruce) in Chatham and their daughters Jennifer Hill (Brad) and Cheryl for all their kindnesses, especially hosting Aung G at many holiday dinners where she was surrounded by love, kids and dogs. Aunt G was predeceased by her sister Marie (Reaume) Parry and brother-in-law Donald J. Parry of Chatham ON, who both played a large role in her life. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Fairfield Park Nursing Home for all their care and thoughtfulness, including Dr. Perkin and Dr. Mayo.
