David Anderson

April 4, 2021

David Earl Anderson of Terrace Bay, Ontario and formerly of Wallaceburg, entered into the presence of his Saviour and Lord at the McCausland Hospital in Terrace Bay on April 4, 2021 at the age of 78. Dave was born in Sombra Township to Duncan and Pearl (Will) Anderson. He married Marilyn (Benn) in May of 1964. Loving father of Brian Anderson (Sue) of Wallaceburg, Tracy Anderson (Judy) of Terrace Bay and Tammy Haggerty (Brad) of Port Lambton. Dear grandfather of Sarah (Steve) Reeves, David (Mandie) Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Kassandra Anderson, Jasmine (Nathan) Molyneaux, Shelby (Adrian) Anderson Harder, Brad Haggerty and Wyatt Haggerty and great grandfather of Lucas Anderson. Brother of Ann Shepley (the late Web) and the late Ruby Anderson ( and her late husbands: Tuffy Davis, Don Robotham, Clifford Wright), Bob Anderson; Nettie Anderson (and the late Bill Castaldi). Son-in-law of the late David & Dorothy (McLean) Benn. Brother-in-law of Gerry (Liz) Benn, Mike (the late Ruth) Hindmarsh, and Beckie (Rob) Vyvey. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Dave farmed a number of years to help his mother-in-law, while employed in Wallaceburg. Dave had a strong work ethic beginning his working experience at a grain mill. He was later employed at Benn Iron Foundry, Hillerich and Bradsby, Eaton Yale and Ford (Windsor). Dave loved the Lord and was part of the following churches through the years: Thornyhurst Free Methodist (Thornyhurst), Lambton Baptist Church (Port Lambton.), Central Baptist Church (Wallaceburg), Community Fellowship Baptist Church (Wallaceburg), and finally North Shore Church in Terrace Bay. He treasured the members of each of the churches he attended. In fact, he met his love Marilyn at the youth group at Port Lambton where his future brother-in-law, Gerry Benn, was the pastor. Dave loved people and enjoyed their company, many times going for a meal with them (at most all of the restaurants in Wallaceburg). He enjoyed visiting with people where a chat could last a couple of hours. He loved country music, reading James Patterson novels, and camping. He liked to tinker with things and always wanted to be a mechanic, but was never able to pursue it. He will be missed, and was loved by his family and many friends. A celebration of David’s life will be held at a date to be announced. Donations to North Shore Church (12 Terrace Ct, Terrace Bay, ON P0T 2W0) or Community Fellowship Baptist Church (1308 Elgin St, Wallaceburg, ON N8A 3E8) may be left at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg 519.627.3231. Online tributes may be left at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca
