Nancy Tabbert

It is with the deepest regret that the family and friends of Nancy Tabbert announce her passing on July 26, 2011 at the Sydenham Campus in Wallaceburg. Nancy Karen Tabbert was the daughter of the late Percy and Ethel Tabbert and was born and raised in Fonthill, Ontario. She is survived by 3 brothers; Gerry (Janet) Port St. Lucie, Florida, Frank (Priscilla) of Barrie and Dennis. Nancy will be greatly missed by her nephews, Chris, Jeff and Joel and nieces Susan, Lorri, Leah, Tara and Julie. She leaves behind several great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece. She is survived by her former husband, Dr. Greg Crowe of Owen Sound. She will be missed by her beloved pets, Killarney, DiCaprio, Kipling and Chance. Nancy is predeceased by her parents and a niece Jennifer. Nancy graduated from the University of Western Ontario and most of her career was spent teaching Grade 7, at H.W. Burgess Elementary School, coaching team sports. She specialized in grammar and clothing preferences -(dress code). She loved flashy cars and landscaping around her house on the St. Clair. Nancy enjoyed golfing at the Baldoon Golf Course and she was the first female president of the Sydenham Curling Club. At one time Nancy was the correspondent of the Ontario Curling Report. Friends may call at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson St. in Wallaceburg from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Greg Bonin at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Friday July 29 at 11AM. Nancy will lay in state at the church for the hour prior. The interment will take place in Fonthill at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens on Saturday July 30 at 11 AM. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the London Regional Cancer Center, Sydenham District Hospital Auxiliary and the Ontario Humane Society, Sarnia may be left at the funeral home 519 627-3231.
