Evelyn Blanche Massey Robson (nee Lacarte) Born February 1, 1920 Brentha, Ontario, daughter of Felix and Cordelia Lacarte. Wife of Richard Robson of Wallaceburg. On. Peacefully passed on Saturday May 18, 2013 at Fairfield Nursing Home, Wallaceburg, On. at the age of 93, with her son Vince and wife Faye at her bedside. Dear Mother to Vince (Faye) Massey, London On, Brian (Wendy) Massey of Florida, Mother-in-law to Jim Burgess of Port Elgin. Grandmother to Lori (Les) Pressel, Lisa Massey, Vicky Massey, Chris (Julie) Massey, Jason Massey, Jeremy (Anna) Massey, Jeff (Erin) Massey, Brandi Burgess, Brandon (Cyndi) Burgess. Great Grandmother to Morgan, Mallory and Max Poirier, Grant Key, Vince and Kayla Massey. Sister in- laws Clara Kriekle, Regina Sk., and Ethel Lacarte of Englehart, On. Best friends for over 60 years Muriel Lilley of Brighton, Ontario, who Evelyn thought of as a sister. Muriel’s letters and cards meant so much to Evelyn. Predeceased by her loving and caring husband Henry Massey 1993 and their loving daughter Michelle Massey Burgess 2010. Her parents Felix and Cordelia Lacarte, siblings Louis, John, Donalda, Phil, Delia, Jim, Ken, Albany and Arthur Lacarte. Evelyn lived her life with dignity and was a woman of very deep faith with unconditional strong love for her family. Always a smile and always time to listen to others, she helped many along the way who were in need and expected nothing in return. Evelyn enjoyed a most successful career in real estate sales with Sullivan Real Estate. Evelyn was a member of the Holy Family Church and belonged to the Catholic Women League. Evelyn loved her golf and card games with her many friends in Wallaceburg, loved music and travel, her trip to the Holy Land was the highlight of her travels. Evelyn looked forward to visits from all the family and friends, Evelyn enjoyed visits from her son Vince and they would watch golf or family CD’s and at her request Vince would play the harmonica while his Mom would smile and tap her feet. Evelyn looked forward to visit with her son Brian and Wendy and hearing all about the family. The family are deeply appreciative of the care Evelyn received at Fairfield Nursing Home from Dr. Tom Perkins and caregivers, and wish to express their gratitude at this time. The family also want to thank Eleanor Dent a friend of many years for her visits that meant so much to Evelyn. A special thank you to Rev. Alan McIntyre, Evelyn looked forward to his many weekly visits to share his sense of humour and prayer. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Saturday. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 25 at 10:30 AM. Cremation to follow with interment at Riverview Cemetery, at a later date.
