Adrienne Doran

It is with heavy hearts we announce that our Mom (Josephine) Adrienne Yvette Marie Doran (87 yrs old) passed away peacefully on Jan 22nd, 2024 at CKHA surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children Eric (Cindy) Doran, Kerry Doran, Kelly (Brian) Bogaert, and Stephanie Doran. Grandmother to Shannon (Mike) Johnston, Jason (Michelle) Doran, Curtis (Kalyn) Veenstra, Kristine (Andy) Veenstra, Tiana (Milan) Bos, Brenna (Andrew) Pulford, Kelsey (Chris) Barkman, and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear sister Simone Stevens, many loving nieces/nephews, and good friends Judy, Jean and Carmen. She was predeceased by her siblings Theresa, Florida, Andre and infant brother George. Mom was the perfect loving mother. She was strong when she needed to be, worked hard, and made a great life for herself and us kids. We all became professional First Responders because she raised us to be compassionate people. She loved to putter around her homes over the years, adding her touch to each one. She tackled painting, decorating, and fixing things on her own, using her little toolbox, and a lot of twisters and string. There was nothing she couldn't do once she set her mind to it, as long as it didn't interfere with her coffee group schedule at McDonalds. Mom's positive attitude and love of life were contagious. She was humble, kind, patient and chose to see the best in people, all values which she instilled in her children. Mom was employed at the Canada Employment Centre and enjoyed many years of retirement, however after some health challenges, Mom moved to Grand Retirement where she thoroughly enjoyed and participated in the activities and made many new friends. She didn't sit around waiting for life to pass her by, she went out and had fun doing the simplest of things and kept a very busy social calendar. Her favourite sayings were "Be careful what you start".... "It is what it is".... "Why not?" and in her later years "Paying is the easy part"....all great advice and words to live by. Mom was never one to pass up a cookie, or the chance to go for an adventure with her sister Simone as her chauffeur. Family was always the most important thing in her world. Mom's piercing blue eyes, beautiful smile and quick wit added joy to everyone around. She was the ROCK of the family and will be greatly missed. Mom would like to remind people it's important to be kind to everyone, compliment others often, and say what you are thankful for. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Grand Retirement, and CKHA for their kindness, compassion, and services. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231). As per Mom's request, there will be a private family internment.
