A Tradition Since 1920
 Mr.
Edwin E. Cousins
The
tradition of the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home
began in 1920 when Edwin E. Cousins and Orrin Burlingham began a
furniture and undertaking business. Mr.
Burlingham retired in 1938 with Mr. Cousins continuing until 1946
when Hank Haycock moved to Wallaceburg from Ingersoll, after the
war, to form a partnership with Sam Douglas. Mr. Douglas eventually
moved on to furniture manufacturing.

Mr. Haycock changed the undertaking business from a
store front location to a "Home for Funerals" which was a house
located where the Bank of Nova Scotia is today. In 1952, that
location moved to the present one level location on at the corners
of Nelson & Elgin Streets. It was the first building built as a
funeral home in the Lambton-Kent area.

Family
The Cavanagh Family purchased the business in 1983.
Since then, Michael, Patricia and Kevin have channeled their efforts
into creating a facility that Wallaceburg could be proud of with
it's warm, bright, homelike atmosphere and quality of service.
